The Coordinator for Health and Nursing Services will provide coordination and oversight for all healthcare and nursing services provided in the CIU20 Special Education Programs (e.g. Multi-disabilities and Physical Support programs). Healthcare providers are assigned to students outside agencies and/or school districts and are responsible for meeting the medical needs of students assigned to CIU20 special education classes and programs. This position will ensure health care services are provided appropriately and safely to students in the CIU20 special education program(s) per medical plans. This position will also provide additional supports and training to CIU20 classroom staff regarding personal care assistance outlined in students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or Individualized Health Plans (IHPs). The Coordinator of Nursing Services will support student and CIU20 Employee staff wellness activities and resources. The Coordinator for Health and Nursing Services will be responsible for accessing timely information regarding healthcare services questions and provide training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinate with healthcare agencies and school district nursing services to oversee healthcare and nursing services provided in CIU20 Student Services Programs (e.g. Multi-disabilities and Physical Support programs).
2. Collaborate with CIU20 Supervisors in the development and delivery of professional development opportunities for intermediate unit staff and district partners.
3. Collaborate with Supervisors of Special Education (e.g. MDS/PS) to manage and resolve healthcare-related issues, participate in the IEP process, and establish written internal guidelines when necessary.
4. Serve as a resource for families with children who attend CIU20 programs.
5. Manage health services budgets and resources and assist in securing, preparing, collecting, and inventorying nursing equipment and materials across all CIU20 buildings and programs.
6. Developing and implementing health and wellness programs for students and staff.
7. Demonstrate professionalism while contributing to the achievement of all Intermediate Unit goals in support of the vision and mission of the Intermediate Unit. Please attach two letters of reference to the on-line application. Your application packet will be screened and reviewed by the program administrator. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contact by the administrator regarding an interview date and time. If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will need to have all credentials (3 Clearances, School Personnel Health Record) submitted in order to be recommended to the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 Board of Directors for hire. This will include completing an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and showing originals of documents you wish to submit to establish employment identity and work authorization. This will be handled through the Recruitment Office.

This form is not required for you to be an active candidate. Please DO NOT have the form completed unless you are directed by a recommending administrator or the Human Resources Office.
If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will be required to have a pre-employment medical examination – physical and tuberculosis (TB) test. All results (physical and TB) must be recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. No other forms are acceptable. The physical and TB are at your own expense. If the physical is performed by a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, the Physician must also sign; the TB test may be done by a physician or licensed health care provider. All areas of the physical and TB test must be completed, signed, and properly dated.
Physical and TB results within the last three months of receipt will be accepted if they are recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. Dates of results longer than three months of our receipt will not be accepted.
