Requirements

Master’s Degree in a recognized related Mental Health Clinical Discipline. Professional license beneficial. Flexible hours may be required, based on individualized client needs.

Must have the ability to be trained and utilize TACT-2 methods of behavior assessment and apply restraint when necessary.  

 

Must have basic computer skills to utilize both CIU-20 computer-based and web-based programs.

 
 
Description
ANTICIPATED OPENING - Long term substitute Mental Health Treatment Specialsist for the Partial Hospitalization program. Position beginning approximately mid-October 2025 and continuing for 12 weeks.

To provide direct, intense treatment that will focus on helping clients learn to respond to their daily environment in a practical and productive manner.  Emphasis will be placed on client’s current needs, functions, and support systems, as they relate to mental health treatment and educational needs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Treatment Planning and Preparation.

    To demonstrate knowledge of content, client, and resources. 

    To select treatment goals and assess outcomes.

     

  2. The Therapeutic Milieu

    To create a respectful environment and establish a therapeutic culture.

    To manage therapeutic procedures and client behaviors in an organized, safe, and nurturing environment.

     

  3. Direct Therapeutic Services

    To communicate clearly and accurately to family and client.

    To use therapeutic, flexible strategies that engage clients and provide feedback.

     

  4. Profession Responsibilities

    To follow the Intermediate Unit 20’s policies and procedures and best practice of his/her profession.

    To show professionalism and growth within his/her profession.

    To maintain a professional relationship with families, community, and colleagues.

     

  5. Other

    To perform other duties, as directed by the Level IV Treatment Coordinator and/or the Level III Supervisor of Clinical Support.

Application Procedure

Your application packet will be screened and reviewed by the program administrator. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contact by the administrator regarding an interview date and time.

If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will need to have all credentials (3 Clearances, School Personnel Health Record) submitted in order to be recommended to the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 Board of Directors for hire. This will include completing an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and showing originals of documents you wish to submit to establish employment identity and work authorization. This will be handled through the Recruitment Office.


School Personnel Health Form – READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.


This form is not required for you to be an active candidate. Please DO NOT have the form completed unless you are directed by a recommending administrator or the Human Resources Office.


If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will be required to have a pre-employment medical examination – physical and tuberculosis (TB) test. All results (physical and TB) must be recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. No other forms are acceptable. The physical and TB are at your own expense. If the physical is performed by a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, the Physician must also sign; the TB test may be done by a physician or licensed health care provider. All areas of the physical and TB test must be completed, signed, and properly dated.


Physical and TB results within the last three months of receipt will be accepted if they are recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. Dates of results longer than three months of our receipt will not be accepted.

Selected candidates for IU20 positions will be required to produce state mandated background clearances and fraud checks as part of the employment onboarding process. All recommendations for hire shall be contingent upon receipt of acceptable clearances and fraud checks. The clearances and checks will be treated confidentially.
