| PA Special Education Teaching Certificate PK-8 or N-12; Level II beneficial. Relevant educational classroom experience, Behavioral Health Service (Behavior Specialist) experience, knowledge of child development, principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Board Certified Behavior Analyst beneficial.
Must have basic computer skills to utilize both CIU-20 computer-based and web-based programs. |

ANTICIPATED OPENING - Program Specialist for the Early Intervention program servicing all Early Intervention sites in the Colonial IU 20 service area. Early Intervention has a 188 day work year spanning the entire school year, July through June. Essential Duties:
•Serve as a resource person for the Early Intervention staff agencies. Work with BSC’s and TSS community agencies for students that receive IBHS services.
•Provide training on topics surrounding early intervention to providers; set-up and accompany provider for observations in our programs.
•Consult and provide technical assistance to teachers and therapists on behavioral programming, functional assessments, and behavior analysis for students with autism or displayed characteristics of autism or behavioral disorders.
•Model effective teaching strategies and positive behavior intervention strategies to staff, community partners, and families.
•Assist with new program development (including trainings, classroom design, and curriculum development.
•Utilize and disseminated PDE sponsored materials and information regarding autism and early intervention.
•Observe students, complete functional behavioral assessments, prove behavioral and communication recommendations, and provide follow-up activities to any programming or behavioral planning.
•Train teachers and associate teachers in methods/techniques to improve student behaviors, communication skills, and early learning development.
•Establish and work with teams on data collection and graphing behaviors; review data when needed.
•Keep current in trends, best practices, and related subject matter to provide efficient and effective services.
•Provide input and support at IEP and Interagency meetings. Assist case managers in writing IEP goals and objective that support students.
•Provide parents and community programs with information regarding autism and programs/services available in early intervention. Consult directly with families and provide training on techniques in Applied Behavior Analysis.
•All other duties assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education for Early Intervention and accomplishment of department plan goals.
