Requirements |

Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or related field preferred
- Experience:
- Prior coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred
- Experience working with high school student-athletes
- Knowledge Base:
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and player development
- Understanding of PIAA rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements
- Commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the field
- Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members
- Commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and character development
- Certifications & Clearances:
- Valid Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
- Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of required coaching education/training (NFHS or equivalent preferred)
Add-Ons
- Ability to oversee and develop the entire football program (7–12 pipeline)
- Experience with strength & conditioning programs
- Knowledge of Hudl/film breakdown or similar technology
- Willingness to support offseason training, summer camps, and program development

Description |

Moshannon Valley School District is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Head Coach – Varsity Football to lead and grow our football program. This position is responsible for building a competitive, well-structured program that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and character development.
The Head Coach will serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and pride both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will not only focus on athletic success but also prioritize the academic achievement and personal growth of all student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all aspects of the varsity football program
- Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and offseason programs
- Build and maintain a strong, cohesive coaching staff across all levels (7–12 program)
- Promote a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and respect
- Monitor and support the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes
- Ensure compliance with school district policies and PIAA rules and regulations
- Organize and oversee team events, including games, practices, camps, and team activities
- Maintain effective communication with players, parents/guardians, staff, and administration
- Promote the football program within the school and community to build pride and participation
- Oversee equipment, uniforms, and facilities associated with the program
- Support and participate in school and community events
