ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – HEAD COACH, VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER
- Demonstrates the ability to teach and develop fundamental and advanced soccer skills, game strategies, positional play, and overall knowledge of the sport.
- Promotes good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and positive character development among student-athletes.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to the soccer program through attendance at practices, contests, meetings, offseason activities, and related events, including evenings and weekends.
- Organizes and supervises preseason, in-season, and offseason conditioning and skill development programs in accordance with district and PIAA guidelines.
- Plans, organizes, and conducts safe, structured, and effective practices and competitions.
- Evaluates student-athletes fairly and effectively to determine skill level, team placement, and player development opportunities.
- Encourages and assists student-athletes interested in pursuing collegiate athletic opportunities by communicating with college recruiters and promoting athletes appropriately.
- Assists in the development and promotion of the girls soccer program through positive recruitment and retention of student-athletes within the district.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with all PIAA, district, league, and applicable NCAA rules, regulations, policies, and eligibility requirements.
- Responds appropriately to injuries and emergencies by utilizing first aid procedures and established district protocols.
- Maintains and inventories uniforms, equipment, and facilities while ensuring proper care and security of all district property.
- Supervises student-athletes during practices, contests, transportation, locker room activities, and team events to ensure appropriate conduct and safety.
- Monitors and supports student-athlete attendance, academic progress, eligibility, and behavior in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and administration.
- Maintains effective communication with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administration, staff, and community members in a professional manner.
- Serves as a positive role model and representative of the school district and athletic program at all times.
- Attends required athletic department, league, district, and rules interpretation meetings as assigned.
- Ensures compliance with all district policies, coaching certifications, mandated trainings, and clearance requirements.
- Performs other duties related to the position as assigned by the Athletic Director or Administration.

Description |

The Moshannon Valley School District is seeking applicants for the position of Head Coach – Varsity Girls Soccer. This position is responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing all aspects of the varsity girls soccer program while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic success among student-athletes.
The Head Coach will provide instruction in fundamental and advanced soccer skills, organize and supervise practices and competitions, promote a positive team culture, and ensure compliance with all district, league, and PIAA regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills while serving as a positive role model for student-athletes both on and off the field.
This program is a cooperative partnership between the Moshannon Valley School District and the Curwensville Area School District. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with both school districts to support and grow the program.
Candidates must possess all required coaching clearances, certifications, and trainings in accordance with district and PIAA requirements. Previous coaching and/or playing experience in soccer is preferred. |

All required clearances and Mandated Reporter Training certificates must be completed prior to working with students. A physical examination and TB test will also be required for employment. |
