Requirements

·     Ability to work as part of a team, deal with physical and verbal behaviors, gather, organize, and summarize data, assess needs, take appropriate initiative, problem-solve, and communicate with diverse groups. 

·     Knowledge of and ability to use pertinent software applications such as Google Docs and Google Sheets etc.

·     Current driver's license and personal transportation.  

·     Physical demands may include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, and lifting up to 20 pounds.  

·     Need to be Highly Qualified.

 
 
Description

This instructional assistant position will have the following responsibilities and performance expectations: 

·      Conduct observations of students in various school environments. Collect, summarize, and analyze data and write reports.

·      Model behavior interventions for students with behavioral concerns throughout the district (K-12+). 

·      Work closely with School Psychologist, classroom teachers, and staff to model and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). 

·      Work as a team member: communicate effectively, share ideas, collaborate, and build relationships. 

·      Develop positive, cooperative relationships.  Effectively establish rapport with students, parents, and school staff.

·      Maintain high professional standards: be honest, reliable, punctual, and respectful. 

·      Maintain a professional attitude, be sensitive to boundaries, respect confidentiality, etc.

·     Skills of adaptability, flexibility, initiative, problem-solving, common sense, and self-management.

  • Provide classroom or 1:1 aide support over short periods for emergency behavior situations.

·     Attend training as required.

 
 
Application Procedure

This position is for lane 4, Special Ed. An aide to work with the District Behavior Support team.  It is a 29-hour/ week position.
