Provo High School Ballroom Dance Program
Position Announcement: Two Assistant Ballroom Coaches (Part-Time)
Position Title: Assistant Ballroom Dance Coach Location: Provo High School, Provo, Utah Application Deadline: Open until filled Start Date: August 2025 (or as determined by the Head Coach) Position Type: Part-Time, Stipend Position
Position Summary:
Provo High School’s nationally recognized Ballroom Dance Program is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Ballroom Coaches to support the training, development, and success of our Ballroom Dance Company and student teams. This is a part-time, stipend-based position working under the direction of the Ballroom Program Director.
Responsibilities Include:

Assisting with the instruction of the Provo High School Ballroom Dance Company and team classes.

Providing technical, artistic, and performance coaching in various ballroom and Latin dance styles.
-
Supporting students in preparing for performances, competitions, and school events.
-
Help teach technique and other valuable ballroom skills during technique and team class periods.
-
Choreograph show routines and competition routines as needed. Helping with competition medleys during out of school medley practices.
-
Helping with administrative tasks such as team management, costuming, travel preparation, and event coordination.

Acting as a positive role model for students, promoting teamwork, respect, and professionalism.

Collaborating with the Head Coach and other assistants to implement program goals and maintain a supportive team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Background in ballroom dance, with experience in competitive or performance-based ballroom and Latin styles.
-
Experience teaching or coaching youth dancers is highly desirable.

Ability to work collaboratively with a coaching team and students of varying skill levels.
-
Strong organizational and communication skills.
-
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and respectful team culture.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
-
Afternoons during 4th period, evenings, and occasional weekends based on rehearsal and competition schedules.

Compensation provided as a seasonal stipend based on district pay scale.
