Requirements |
|
|
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Esports advisor, including the management of funds, maintaining the esports lab equipment and scheduling, and working with the school and district for approval on all games.
- Oversee the team's paid and volunteer coaching team
- Serve as a liaison with the state Esports Coaches Association, PlayVS, Ken Garff Esports, the UHSAA, and other partnering organizations
- Work with the Esports student leadership team in planning and carrying out activities and events
- Serve as an active admin on all club accounts, including Discord, Twitch, and YouTube
- Review eligibility for students in each of the esports programs
- Serve as a coach/advisor for two of the competitive esports programs
- Develop strategies and training routines to develop talent in the programs under their charge

UHSAA approved titles:
- Mario Kart
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate
- Rocket League
PlayVS Mountain States League Titles:
- Valorant
- Marvel Rivals
- Pokemon Unite (pilot for 2025)
- Chess (pilot for 2025)
Season timeline: Fall season is typically Sept through early December (not all teams participate in the fall season), and spring is typically February through April. Teams typically practice a couple of hours a day after school. There are two travel games each year that the team is required to participate in through the Ken Garff/UHSAA partnership. One is in the fall (typically Oct or Nov) and one is in the spring (typically Mar or Apr).
