Experience: Job-related experience required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates and Licenses Has completed 48 units of college-level coursework, or an Associate’s Degree, or a Passing score on the Praxis Para-pro exam.
Clearances Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Responsibilities include: · Working under limited supervision and following established protocols · Supporting instruction and student engagement · De-escalating and supervising transitions · Administering CBMs and BASC assessments · Monitoring student attendance and communicating absences · Supporting IEP/504 compliance and Check & Connect reporting · Submitting required data for hospital and district partners · Serving as substitute coverage for the classroom teacher · Tracking intervention fidelity across Tier 1-3 systems · Collecting and reporting academic and behavioral data
Essential Functions:
· Reinforce academic instruction and classroom expectations under teacher direction. · Provide real-time behavioral prompts and emotional regulation support. · Supervise and support student transitions between classes and services. · Deliver Tier 1–3 intervention supports and monitor fidelity of implementation. · Collect and enter data for IEPs, 504s, hospital treatment reports, and MTSS documentation. · Administer Curriculum-Based Measures (CBMs) and behavioral assessments (e.g., BASC). · Support classroom safety through de-escalation techniques and crisis response. · Prepare classroom materials and assist with lesson delivery. · Communicate absences and attendance issues to the Building Leadership Team (BLT). · Substitute in the absence of the teacher to maintain instructional continuity. · Participate in weekly progress reviews, report compilation, and cross-agency coordination. · Support students with accessing Chromebooks, projectors, and instructional technology. · Uphold confidentiality and district policies in compliance with student rights and program goals.

| Purpose Statement The job of Inst Asst 4 / Student and Family Advocate is done for the purpose/s of providing support for the instructional program with specific responsibilities of working with families in identifying and achieving goals; accessing support services; creating training programs; facilitating positive parent, school and student relationships; monitor and provide intervention for students with truancy problems; assist with coordinating student services and child welfare programs (court, guardian, ad litem, foster parents, Children's Justice Center, youth in custody, social workers, teachers, etc.) provide services to migrant educational students; supply information to students, parents, school offices, community representatives, etc.; and assists in implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
