Head Football Coach

Timpview High School | Provo City School District

 


 

Timpview High School is seeking an experienced, passionate, and student-centered Head Football Coach to lead a highly competitive, tradition-rich, education-based football program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to sustaining a winning culture grounded in a positive team environment, integrity, hard work, individual accountability, personal character, and comprehensive player development.

 


 

Primary Purpose

The Head Football Coach is responsible for supporting the academic, athletic, and personal growth of football student-athletes. This role will provide high-quality instruction, leadership, and mentorship to help athletes develop strong football fundamentals, a structured offseason strength and conditioning program, discipline, and an academic foundation that remains central to the program’s success. This role includes cultivating a positive community relationship, overseeing a fiscally responsible budget, and implementing a fundraising plan to ensure program needs are met. Adherence to Provo City School District and UHSAA policies and professionalism in representing Timpview High School are imperative.

 


 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • High school and collegiate playing and coaching experience (head coaching experience strongly preferred)

  • Knowledge of current football coaching techniques, systems, and athlete development

Expectations

  • Ability to mentor student-athletes and build relationships of trust

  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively assess assistant coaches and players 

  • Work well with the school community, ie, coaches, administrators, band director, and custodians

These qualifications and expectations reflect a leader capable of managing a education-based football program. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing competitive teams while fostering positive relationships with student-athletes, their families, and the broader school community.
