Part-Time Ballroom Director
Location: Provo High School Position Type: Part-Time Salary with Stipend Start Date: 2026-27 School Year
Overview: Provo High School is seeking a Part-Time Ballroom Director to lead our ballroom dance program. This role includes: (1) teaching during the school day; (2) directing performances and competitions; and (3) organizing the annual fundraiser called Provo High School's Ballroom Dancesport Festival held in January.
Provo High School is on a block schedule, and classes for this position are held during period 3 and 4 on both A and B days. Courses include 1-Ballroom 2, 1-JV Ballroom, and 1-Varsity Ballroom. The ideal candidate is organized, student-focused, and actively engaged in instruction.
Responsibilities:

Teach ballroom dance classes and actively instruct students daily

Choreograph and prepare students for performances and competitions

Organize program logistics (events, travel, schedules)

Supervise students during class, rehearsals, and activities

Collaborate with instructional assistants while maintaining primary responsibility for instruction

Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment

Communicate with parents, students, and administration

Maintain a budget

Plan fundraisers
-
Demonstrate consistent, active supervision and leadership in both classroom and program settings, ensuring students are engaged and appropriately managed at all times
Qualifications:

Ballroom dance experience (instruction and/or competitive background preferred)

Strong classroom management and organizational skills
-
Experience working with high school students preferred
-
Utah Educator License or willingness to obtain one
